The Palestinian AlFajr Youth Association has launched the project “Debris Clearance to Facilitate Access to Life-Saving Services in Khan Younis Governorate.” The project aims to remove debris and reopen damaged roads, facilitating the movement of residents and ensuring access for humanitarian teams, ambulances, civil defence crews, and essential service providers to affected areas.

The launch ceremony was attended by representatives of government and local authorities, as well as partner organisations. It also marked the start of field operations to remove and transport debris and prepare roads for safe use, based on identified field needs and priorities.

The project responds to the extensive damage sustained by infrastructure and road networks across Khan Younis Governorate, which has severely restricted residents’ movement and access to humanitarian assistance and essential services. It also represents an important step towards supporting early recovery, strengthening community resilience, and creating the conditions necessary for life to return to affected areas.

The project is implemented by the Palestinian AlFajr Youth Association (FPYA), funded by the Wafaa AlMuhsineen Charitable Foundation, supervised by the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and field-monitored by Khan Younis Municipality.
