2025/07/17
AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association (FPYA) hosted a delegation of international partners, including representatives from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Cluster (WASH Cluster), and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), along with representatives from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU).
The visit included an open community meeting that brought the delegation together with community leaders and prominent figures from Khan Younis Governorate. The meeting aimed to discuss the severe challenges facing the water sector, particularly water scarcity and deteriorating water quality, and to explore urgent and sustainable solutions that could alleviate the suffering of residents and displaced families amid the ongoing war and worsening humanitarian crisis.
This meeting forms part of FPYA’s efforts to strengthen direct communication between local communities and international stakeholders, convey residents’ needs and priorities, and mobilize practical interventions to help ensure their minimum basic right to access safe and sufficient water.
