Al Fajr Palestinian Youth Association Holds a Brainstorming Workshop with Broad Participation from the Education Sector to Advance Early Recovery in the Gaza Strip

FPYA Organizes Brainstorming Workshop on Early Recovery of Basic Education in Gaza
In a step that reflects a deep conviction that education is the cornerstone of recovery and future-building, ALFajr Palestinian Youth Association (FPYA) organized a specialized brainstorming workshop on the early recovery of basic education in the Gaza Strip. The workshop saw active participation from the Parents’ Council and more than thirty school principals representing the Directorates of Education in Khan Younis, East Khan Younis, and Rafah.
The workshop served as a meaningful and responsible dialogue platform, highlighting the complex challenges facing the education system across its core components: students, teachers, schools, and families. In-depth discussions focused on improving the classroom environment, addressing the severe shortage in special education and remedial learning services, and the urgent need to train and equip educational staff in line with the scale of current challenges.
Participants also emphasized the importance of developing learning spaces and non-formal education programs, as well as designing effective remedial plans for students from grades one through seven. In addition, catch-up strategies for preparatory and secondary levels were discussed to address the significant learning loss resulting from exceptional circumstances.
Logistical challenges were also addressed, including school infrastructure issues such as shortages in water, sanitation, and furniture. Discussions further underscored the need to reprioritize interventions, particularly the importance of vacating schools currently used as shelters for displaced populations to ensure a safe and stable learning environment.
This workshop was not merely a meeting, but a serious step toward rebuilding the education system on stronger and more resilient foundations, grounded in the belief that investing in education is an investment in the resilience and future of the Palestinian people.
