Implementation Details
As part of its ongoing efforts to support displaced families and alleviate their living burdens, AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association implemented a project to establish and operate three semi-automatic ovens at several displacement sites across Khan Younis Governorate.
The project operates at Al-Awawda (Al-Bashir) Camp in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, and Al-Fajr Camp, north of Hamad City. The ovens operate in two shifts to serve the largest possible number of families.
The project enables families to bring their ready-prepared dough to the ovens for safe and organized baking, helping reduce the costs of fuel and baking supplies amid difficult humanitarian and economic conditions.
Each oven serves approximately 100 families per day, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to around 300 families daily. The three ovens have a combined production capacity of approximately 3,000 loaves per day.
This intervention responds to the growing need for baking services at displacement sites. It facilitates families’ access to bread, preserves their dignity, and strengthens their ability to cope with the current circumstances.
