Job Description
Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association (FPYA) is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to work on the project “Debris Removal to Facilitate Access to Life-Saving Services in Khan Younis Governorate.”
Tasks
- Conduct field inspections and assess debris sites and damaged roads.
- Prepare work plans, technical documentation, and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Supervise debris removal, road clearance, and land-levelling activities.
- Ensure that all activities comply with technical specifications and occupational health and safety standards.
- Document work progress and prepare periodic technical and field reports in Arabic and English.
- Coordinate with the project management team, municipalities, and relevant local stakeholders.
- Verify completed works, quantities, and technical payment certificates.
- Identify field risks and implement appropriate measures to protect workers and community members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
- Relevant professional experience in supervising construction, debris removal, road rehabilitation, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, particularly AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in English—reading, writing, and speaking—is an essential requirement.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and Bills of Quantities.
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety standards at work sites.
- Ability to conduct fieldwork, perform effectively under pressure, and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in Khan Younis Governorate or who can access the project sites.
