Hygiene Promoter
Southern Gaza Strip | Three months, renewable on a monthly basis.
Job Description
To implement community-based health education and hygiene promotion activities and encourage safe hygiene practices among targeted populations under the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project, contributing to disease prevention and improved public health, in line with the Association’s work plans and internationally recognized humanitarian and professional standards.
Tasks
- Conduct health education and hygiene promotion sessions for individuals, households, and community groups.
- Lead a team of hygiene promoters and implement awareness campaigns within communities and displacement sites.
- Develop and adapt health education materials and awareness messages to ensure they are appropriate for target audiences.
- Conduct field visits to identify health needs and hygiene-related risks in targeted areas.
- Promote the adoption of safe hygiene practices and healthy behaviours among community members.
- Collect data, document activities, and prepare daily, weekly, and periodic reports.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, or another relevant health-related discipline.
- Previous experience in health education, hygiene promotion, or community health programmes, preferably within the last two years.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
- Strong communication, reporting, data collection, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in the field, perform under pressure, and travel across targeted locations.
- Applicants must be residents of the Southern Gaza Strip.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and respond to emergency programme requirements.
